Book Review Policy

I’m a London-based online bookbabe and regular attendee of all things bookish. I have recently began to chair and appear on panel events in central and greater London, and am happy to be approached with ideas.

Best way to reach me is via twitter where I am @littlehux or email me at hux DOT sewmanybooks AT gmail.com. You can also find me on GoodReads, YouTube as Sew Many Books and Instagram.

I place reviews of all books I have enjoyed reading on Amazon (all my reviews), Waterstones (here are all my reviews), Foyles, and Wordery.

I am very happy to receive books for review, particularly in the areas of:

  • Young Adult
  • Middle Grade, Chapter Books & Picture Books
  • Scifi & Fantasy
  • Literary Fiction
  • Contemporary Fiction
  • Graphic novels
  • Manga
  • Memoirs
  • Popular science and natural history/nature writing
  • Gender and feminism
  • History, particularly in relation to activism, women in various time periods, sex work and black rights.
  • Poetry
  • Dressmaking books

I am actively interested in books related to Queer & Here: The YA QUILTBAG List or The Essential Autie Book List

Please note, due to sensory issues related to autism I cannot review ebooks or books available solely online, and instead require physical copies of books.

Receiving a book does not guarantee a review, however be assured that if something I’m sent isn’t my particular cup of tea I will ensure it finds its way into the hands of someone who will appreciate it.

I will give an honest review based on my experience of the book. If you have a particular timeline that you would ideally like me to read and review by, please do let me know – I cannot guarantee that I can fulfil this but having the information on physical paper makes it more likely! I am a strong believer in the notion that there is a right time, mood, setting etc for a particular book, which may effect the timeline.
